Holistic Yoga Therapeutics™ offers a holistic approach to health and wellness. It is a collaborative process between the practitioner and the client, and offers an opportunity to ask intelligent questions, with the intention to uncover the ways in which your body imprints the effects of your daily movement, recovers from physical/mental and emotional injuries, and experiences acute and chronic pain. As we work together, you will become more informed in the ways your entire body compensates in an effort to move away from your pain/injury, in addition to how it adjusts to postural imbalances, repetitive daily movement, fatigue, stress, muscular tension, joint instability, and more.
What you can expect to happen in a session?
If you are a new client, you will complete a Holistic Yoga Therapeutic™ Intake form, at least 48 hours prior to our session. I will work off of the information you provide on the Intake Form to create questions for clarification, and to customize a session on your behalf. We will schedule 85 minutes for your first session, and much of it will include assessing breath, functional movement (joint range of motion), posture, gate, load transfer, and more.
The first session is an opportunity for you to become curious and aware of your daily movement, while tuning in to any signals your body sends in the process. The first session also gives me an opportunity to start to learn the story your body has to tell. The intention of the first session is to leave you with insight as to how you can begin or continue to be, a part of your own healing process.
We will schedule 60 minutes for every following session, and will continue to build on each session prior to the last; incorporating optimal breathing practices, alignment skills, movement repatterning, relaxation practices, strength building and recovery drills, injury prevention, self care practices, and meditation tools. The intention of each session is to offer an opportunity for you to gain greater awareness in being in your body in some way: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Would I be a good Holistic Yoga Therapeutics™ candidate? The simple answer is yes! Anyone can find benefit: bring more awareness to the sensations that are alive and present in your body, focus on your breathing patterns and learn ways to breathe expansively and with tone and support, understand the ways you carry pain from previous injuries and experiences, examine the ways you execute your daily work and the posture you’ve settled into as a result, make space to learn the ways you personally hold your energy, stress, and anxiety. The greatest benefit for you, is the opportunity to carve space for yourself to tune into your wholeness in an intentional and compassionate way, and to train not only your physical body, but also your inner self and the patterns (samskaras - or impressions, ideas, actions, conditioning) that create static on your path of healing.
You don’t have to have a yoga background to get benefit from a session. However, if you are new to yoga, or would like to refine or customize your practice to address questions, discomfort, or pain; Holistic Yoga Therapeutics™ offers a great format to help empower you in your practice.
